Is it a thing, where older siblings can somehow keep secrets for years? I had no idea Alex worked for the DEO until I saved the plane she was on from crashing. Anyway, even if you're retired--it was an honour to fight beside you. You helped me feel like I belonged, and I appreciate that.
I'm going to need to break her out of prison for that to happen. It's... I'm going to get a headache from how complicated it is. She's from Mars. Same with the director of the DEO, J'onn. But her race basically wiped out his, so he's holding her on principal.
It doesn't sit right. And I mean, that bar serves human drinks also, at least.
It's like they think because they're older, it's their job to try to protect us. Never mind that if they'd told us what'd been going on, we could have protected ourselves.
And...from the way you talk about her, it sounds like she didn't wake part in the wiping out?
I didn't have any brothers or sisters before I came here, so I guess it's just an older sibling thing. Maybe? And we could have, or maybe not. My parents knew our planet was dying, and they never said a thing until it was actually happening. I know it's not the same thing, but I'm still mad at my mother for that. On some level, it's nice to have someone looking out for us, you know? But if you're told what's going on, you can *learn* how to protect yourself. So I understand both points of view.
From the little she's said, she tried to smuggle as many Green martians off-world as she could. Nobody's asked her for her story, and she deserves to be heard. I just don't know if it's right to get in the middle of something that's so personal for them.
I guess the only thing you can do is wait and see if your friend, the Green Martian one, can come to terms with it or not. If he can, maybe it's better to let him without trying to force his hand? And if he can't, then at least you'll both know that instead of always wondering whether your doing something had decided him one way or the other.
